This campaign was created to invite viewers to sign up for a digital subscription to NJ.com by using information about the 2020 election as an incentive.
The creative direction given for the hero image was extremely vague. I was simply asked to design an image that illustrates “cutting through the noise of the election.” I decided to use photographs that relate to the four bullet points in the main body of the email: Trenton, the local economy, personal finance, and education. I depict, “cutting through the noise” through each image beginning as blurry and slowly coming into clarity. The hero image is placed into the email in the form of a gif and was created using Adobe Photoshop. The remaining areas of the email were coded using Adobe Dreamweaver.
Branded versions of this email campaign were also created for Advance Local’s other media groups including cleveland.com, lehighvalleylive.com, MassLive.com, MLive.com, OregonLive, PennLive, SILive.com, and syracuse.com.
